Shannyn Brown was chosen to give the prestigious Ian Maddocks presentation at 23OPCC.
The recipient of the Ian Maddocks Guest Lecture is considered to be the best submission by an author under the age of 40 who is engaged in the study or delivery of palliative care in any of its component disciplines.
Shannyn Brown is a Senior Palliative Care Social Worker in Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). She currently works in a secondment role as the GPCanShare Palliative Care Social Worker, an integrated project between Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) and the SLHD. Prior to this Shannyn was the Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal and Pelvic Mesh Social Worker at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Her passion remains leading service developments from concept to implementation.
Shannyn has previously presented at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Pancreatic Cancer Management conference (2022), Australian and New Zealand Hepatic and Pancreatic and Biliary Association Conference (2019).
